Description AE71 / AE86 – Heater hose E On Sprinters and Corollas the heater systems water outlet hose runs from one side of the heater core, across the firewall, around and under the back of the engine to be clamped over the metal transfer pipe from the back of the water pump. Even when using front wheel drive water pumps such as with 20V 4age conversions these hoses are still used albeit with an extension put between the pump / bottom hose fitting and it. Unfortunately being located directly behind the engine this heater hose is the single most prone to be damaged out of any in the whole engine bay, particularly when a 20V engine is installed. Not only that but they also are not offered from any aftermarket manufacturer. The hoses offered here are genuine and these aren’t likely to be available in the future, so get one of these while they are still available. Suits right hand drive cars only. Unlike these here the hoses to suit left hand drive cars are available from aftermarket sources in silicone. Warning! When fitting do not try to twist or pull off the old hose from the heater core, even when using a heat gun. Heater cores have thin brass pipes and are highly prone to tear even before allowing for old age and corrosion. The best way to remove the old hose is to gently run a knife down the end a few times before carefully peeling it off. Heater flow control taps are also available, see under related products.
