Description 16V 4age Distributor blanking cover When converting to a type of ignition system with more than one coil the original distributor cap and rotor button are made redundant. However the base of the distributor needs to be kept in place as it houses the crank angle sensor (CAS) within as used by the ECU. While some have resorted to tracking down a rare and expensive 4AGZE crank angle sensor it’s not necessary. This product allows for a very simple solution using the existing parts- simply remove the ignition cap and bolt this in place. Construction / design Machined out of a aluminium billet this part is tough yet light and no larger than it needs to be. With a gloss finish it also looks the part. Parts compatibility – Being a universal type it suits all of the different variations of 16V 4age and the early 4agze distributor model. – WARNING- 4AGZE CAS: This is not compatible as a replacement for the OEM blanking cover as used on the later 4agze crank angle sensors (CAS). This type can be identified by it not having a round shape and the engine originally had twin waste spark ignition coils fitted to the rear of the engine. Though if a programmable ECU is being used a standard 4age distributor and one of our covers can be fitted in it’s place to either of the 4agze engines. – NOTE- Early / Bigport distributor limitations: The early distributors in the 4AGE engines feature only sensor / counter wheel 4 teeth without a home signal inside. While this can still be used it restricts the use to batch fire (Non-sequential) ignition / fuel injection only.
